Welcome to Rhemore Wild Croft

Our 145 acre croft on the Morvern Peninsula is mainly Atlantic Rainforest of oak, hazel woods and woodland pasture. Rich with lichens, mosses and fungi the croft is protected as a site of scientific interest.

We are managing the croft sustainably for biodiversity, carbon capture, and for community. We are part of a network of landholders in Scotland committed to nature recovery.

We have a small herd of cows for conservation, a vegetable garden we are planning to expand and nine Hebridean/Shetland sheep. We are already hosting WWOOF volunteers and have had our first three calves.

We are documenting our progress on the croft as the landscape changes and hope to provide accommodation for visitors to the croft in the near future.

We eventually recovered from last month’s haymaking which was mainly done by hand.  I’ve managed to find a tedder (a hay turner) that can by drawn by an electric quad so we won’t be turning the hay with rakes next year and after reading last month’s column, Alasdair has reassured me that doing things by
